So imagine being asked to photograph a wedding on the banks of the Zambezi River just up from Vic Falls. The ceremony takes place under the leafy canopy of a large tree and the couple gets married on a termite mound with the sun setting behind them over the vast expanses of the Zambezi River. Sounds incredible. But then sometimes the gods can be cruel. On the wedding day it rained! And rained, and rained, and rained. Shoes were swopped for gum boots, fancy hats for umbrellas. The mud was everywhere and the road accessible only to 4×4’s. But thats when love and character take over. And never mind the rain and thickly overcast skies, the spirit prevailed. What a beautiful wedding it was.
So the idea on Saturday afternoon was to capture a sunset engagement shoot of David and Angelette on top of Northcliff hill. The problem was the weather was miserable. Think a cross between London and Cape Town in the winter. Luckily their energy battered the miserable weather down and we captured these beautiful moments.
Cheryl, Liezl and I had the privilege of photographing Estiaan and Richard’s wedding at the Munro Boutique Hotel recently.
It really was a rare pleasure to see two amazing best friends and soulmates tie the knot. The venue was beautiful and the party was spectacular.
Thanks for allowing us to capture a very special day.
